We are very excited to be helping on a new project to help pollinators survive and thrive in our part of the world.

Bee Cafes are modular wooden planters loaded with bee-friendly blooms to help hungry and thirsty bees on their daily commute, and are being placed in urban areas where pollinators otherwise struggle to find the pollen and nectar they need to get from A to B without flagging.

The Bee Cafes are the brainchild of retired engineer Paul Martin, founder of the Gt Bealings Climate Emergency Rapid Response Squad.

Each planter is about a cubic metre in size and packed with pollen- and nectar-bearing plants, grown by us at our Newbourne nursery, for the benefit of hungry bees waking up for their spring forage.

Woodbridge Town Council has funded the installation of 10 of these urban pollinator feeding station across the town and they will be officially opened by the mayor, Eamonn O’Nolan, at 11am on Friday 1st March, on Market Hill (Shire Hall if wet).
