Make your borders look as warm as it feels at the moment, with these Geums and Erysimums.
Both are long-flowering perennials that come back year after year. Best in sun and well-drained soil but not especially fussy. Geums are good for planting amongst other perennials as they have a small 'footprint' compared with the area the flowers fill above, meaning you can really maximise the space. Snip out old flowers to encourage new ones. Shrubby wallflower Erysimums are bee- and butterfly-friendly and fragrant to boot. When first blooms finish chop down the entire plant to just a few inches and it will soon regrow and you could have flowers well into autumn time. Those pictured are in 2 litre pots, priced £5.99 each. We also have Geum Koi (scarlet), Sunrise (yellow), Lady Stratheden (yellow) and Mrs Bradshaw (red) in 1 litre pots for £3.29 each.
