Katie’s Garden’s stunning hanging baskets adorn homes, pubs, and public spaces across the area.
Join one of our workshops and let our staff teach you how to make your own to the Katie's Garden standard!
Workshops will last approximately two hours and will include everything you need:
- One 14" wicker basket
- Your choice of basket plants
- Compost, long-release fertiliser and moisture-retaining gel
- Potting gloves (you are welcome to bring your own)
Your two hours will include:
- Tutorial and demonstration from our expert staff
- Time to select the mix of plants you want to use, with staff on hand to guide you and answer any questions
- Get your hands dirty! Plant up your basket at one of our work stations with staff on hand to help out
- No tidying up! We'll do it for you and you can head home with your newly planted basket
We will also give you a voucher for a free cup of tea at the Newbourne Fox!
**Please make sure you read the important information below before you book. We will also email you a reminder of these details closer to the date**
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Bookings are non-refundable but you are welcome to transfer your place to another person if you are unable to attend.
There are a maximum of 10 spaces for each session.
These workshops are aimed at adults but children can take part if accompanied by a paying parent/guardian and must have their own booked place.
Workshops will take place either in one of our greenhouses or outside under one of our canopies, depending on weather. Please dress appropriately to the weather, in clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
All plants, materials and tools required will be provided, including hanging basket.
Free parking is available on site.
If attending a morning or weekend session please follow the signs to the overflow car park and then head to the meeting point in the garden area.
If attending a 4pm session please use the roadside car park and wait by the customer entrance gate. These sessions take place outside normal opening hours.
Please try to arrive a few minutes early so that sessions can begin promptly.
Please let us know beforehand if you have any disabilities or conditions that might require adaptations. Wheelchair users should be able to participate in our workshops - let us know beforehand so we can prepare lower potting stations. Please note our on-site toilets are not wheelchair accessible - the nearest are at the Newbourne Fox.
There will be opportunities for sitting down, during the tutorial, and if needed at other times. Toilet breaks can be taken at any time.
Vouchers will be given for tea at the Newbourne Fox either before or after your workshop and limited refreshments will be available at the nursery.
If you are attending an afternoon session we recommend you call in to us before the workshop to claim your voucher.
