Pot-grown Hedging Plants

**Order for collection or home delivery from mid-November 2024 onwards**

The cool, wet conditions of November-February are ideal for establishing hedges.

Use for privacy, for windbreaks, for wildlife habitat, for noise reduction and to create interest and 'rooms' in your garden.

Price is per plant. Most have a current height of 1-2 foot and are in pots 1.3 to 2.5 litre size.

If you require more than 25 of any variety please click here to contact us as we can often offer a better price. Please also contact us if the variety you want is not listed below, as we can supply by request (minimum order for requests is 25).

PLANTING & AFTERCARE: We would recommend 2-5 plants per metre, but planting density is largely dependent on how quick a result you would like.

Make sure you leave enough space for the eventual depth of the hedge - do not plant right up against boundaries!

Do not plant when soil is frozen or waterlogged. Make sure plants are well watered prior to planting. Application of rootbuilders such as mycorrhizal fungi or bonemeal can help plants establish.

Water hedging plants during dry spells for the first couple of years. Lightly clip plants all the way around (top and all sides) two or three times a year to encourage bushy growth.

Keep the area around them free of weeds, grass and other plants for the first year or so - you do not want them competing for nutrients.
