It couldn't have gone any better: The Talitha Arts Garden was not only awarded Gold at this year's Chelsea Flower Show, it was also judged best garden in the All About Plants category!

Congratulations to designers Joe & Laura Carey, and to everyone else involved with the entry.

The garden featured on today's coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show on the BBC, with a visit from presenter Monty Don.

View it here, starting approximately 35 minutes in and lasting about 10 minutes:

Our own Susie Davis also appeared on this evening's ITV Anglia News talking about Katie's Garden's role in growing many of the plants for the garden.

If you are going to the show make sure you seek out the garden in the Great Pavilion.

It’s a Goodbye & Godspeed to the plants we’ve grown for the Talitha Arts Garden!
They have now headed off to the Chelsea Showground to wow visitors to the Great Pavilion next week.

Following the Chelsea Flower Show they will be permanently relocated to the grounds of St Margaret’s House community centre in Bethnal Green, London.

We have given the plants the best care we can over the year and we wish designers Joe & Laura Carey and the rest of the Chelsea team a trouble-free set-up and a successful show!

Show time's getting closer!

Designers Joe & Laura Carey and some of the Chelsea team came for a visit to the nursery to check up on the plants' progress.

The good news is that most plants are looking on course for peaking at just the right time! It was decided a handful should get moved into the warmth of Allyhouse to help speed them along.

There was also time for a little playing around with plant combinations!

Feature on BBC Gardeners' World!

A television crew from BBC Gardeners' World spent the day at Katie’s Garden Plant Centre filming the plants we are growing for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

The results air on BBC Two at 9pm on Friday 5th May, or catch-up with Episode 8 on the iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b006mw1h/gardeners-world

The collection of unusual perennials, grasses and ferns will soon be heading off to London to become part of the Talitha Arts Garden. The garden has been designed by first-time entrants Joe and Laura Carey of Carey Garden Design Studio in Norfolk and the piece will be focusing on their experience of taking part in ‘the world’s greatest flower show’.

The team from the BBC also found time to interview Katie’s Garden’s owner, Susie Davis, about the new alternatives to peat-free compost, as the nursery works to reduce its own use of peat in the plants it grows.

Among the plants the Careys were interviewed about were the ornamental grass Melica uniflora; perennial Peucedanum rablense, which bears a resemblance to cow parsley; Aquilegia buergeriana, an unusual Columbine; and Geums Bremners Nectarin and Bell Bank.

Having delayed the job due to some very special visitors last week (details to come soon!) it was time for all the plants for the Talitha Arts Garden to lose their buds and flowers.

Anything out now will be finished or well past its best by the time of the Chelsea Flower Show, so out came the snippers. Doing this will stimulate fresh buds and flowers and we have everything crossed these new blooms will be perfectly timed for the show!
