Congratulations to Laura and Joe - we were delighted to be able to help you again.

You can take a look at some of the famous faces who visited the show garden during press day on our Facebook page - click here.

Katie's Garden team at Chelsea

14/5/2025

Four of the Katie's Garden staff went on loan to the Royal Hospital Chelsea to help with the installation of The Addleshaw Goddard: Freedom to Flourish Garden.

Anna, Lucy, Lynda and Tracy spent a couple of days on the planting team, getting the plants in tip top condition and helping to get them into place ahead of the public opening.

Tracy will be returning on press day to work as a garden steward, with Rose and Jane doing the same on Wednesday - if you're going then be sure to say hello!

The garden is outside, in the Small Gardens category.

The plants are on their way!

Susie and Rick have carefully loaded and wrapped the hundreds of plants we have been growing for the Addleshaw Goddard: Freedom to Flourish Garden, and they have now headed off to the Chelsea Showground.

Our involvement doesn't end here though, as several members of Katie's Garden will be following on next week to work on the planting team, with others signed up as garden greeters when the show is open to the public.

Not very long now till showtime, so we have got everything crossed that all the plants flower at the right time: not too soon and not too late.

As you can see we have a lot of buds with just a few flowers so far.

Click on the images to see them in full and to see names

You can see more of the plants that will feature on the official RHS Chelsea page - click here.

The majority of plants are being grown by us and by the How Green nursery in Edenbridge, Kent.

Chelsea Flower Show team meeting

Designer Laura Carey came down from Norfolk to see how the plants are getting on here at Newbourne, and was joined by several members of the planting team.

Hopefully everything is on-track for a great show. Last time Carey Garden Studio entered the show - in 2023, again with Katie's Garden plants - they were awarded Gold and best in show in the All About Plants category, so there is a lot to live up to.

Careful care for the Chelsea plants!

We can't risk wonky stems so the Alliums are going on support canes!

We are gradually moving the plants outside - a mix of bulbs, perennials and annuals - although quite a few remain in our unheated glasshouse for the moment.

The ‘Freedom to Flourish Garden’ features a host of East Anglian coastal plants and is all about the benefits of slowing down. The design explores the mental health benefits of living an unhurried lifestyle and spending time in nature, gardens and gardening.

Hundreds of plants are being cossetted in our growing area ahead of their trip to London.

You can read all about the garden on the RHS website:
