Please note that we do not have the resources to regularly update lists, so some plants might be sold out at this point.

Please do not order patio & basket plants, climbers, trees, roses, lavenders, bulbs or fruit bushes that are not listed. If they are not on these lists we do not have them at this time - please check back later in the season.

As our stock changes so rapidly in May we cannot guarantee exact varieties - we reserve the right to make close substitutions.

Climbers - the quick way to get height

2/5/2020

We have a great selection of healthy young Clematis and climbers that are growing at a pace.

Many of the Clematis are now in bud with a few in flower. Go for vigorous early-flowering montanas, for obelisks and pots look at the Boulevard range, or treat yourself to a classic large-flowered Clematis. Happiest in part-shade, there is though a Clematis for every situation.

For fragrance our young honeysuckles (Lonicera) are getting to a good height now; we also have Jasmine and a limited number of Trachleospermum - also known as Star Jasmine and Evergreen Jasmine.

The climbing Hydrangeas are still a little short but they are such strong-growers we are happy to send them out into gardens now. Take a look at what else we have in the range:

We regret that due to overwhelming demand we have had to temporarily close our order books whilst we catch up.

In the meantime, please take a look through the lists and suggestions in previous posts, and our Summer Patio Plants and Plant Packs pages, to help you prepare your order.

We hope to be able to start accepting new orders from early May. We apologise for any disappointment.

Bearded Iris

11/4/2020

Our little Iris Amber Queens (bottom right of picture) seem to be in a hurry to flower. Limited numbers of these in 1 litre pots at £3.29.

The rest of the bearded Iris are starting to bud and should be in flower for May. All in 2 or 3 litre pots priced £6.99.

This sort of Iris should be planted with the corms just above the soil's surface so they can soak up the sunshine. Especially good for cottage garden schemes and gravel gardens. Ideally plant in clumps of three or more. Heights roughly 1-2ft.

Butterfly-friendly, long-flowering Armerias

9/4/2020

Better known as Thrift, the Armeria are tough little plants that thrive in coastal areas and do well in most sunny spots.

As you can see, they are also butterfly-friendly. Available in 1 litre pots at £3.29. Available pink, white and red.

While we are in the A section we will also give a mention to the Aubretia. Pictured are Kitte Blue in 1 litre pots for £3.29, still in flower. Our other Aubretias are beginning to come to the end of their flowering period but can still be planted out for future years: red, pink and pale blue - £4.50 each.

A Violet with a difference

Don't miss out on these oh-so-pretty Viola Freckles. Just coming into flower now, the delicate speckled flowers make you want to get down low to truly appreciate them.

Easy to grow and easy to care for. Nip out old flowers to encourage new ones - although you might want to leave some to drop seed. They look lovely in perennial borders, gravel, rockeries and in pots, and come back year after year.

In 1 litre pots, priced £3.29 each.

Some like it hot

9/4/2020

Make your borders look as warm as it feels at the moment, with these Geums and Erysimums.

Both are long-flowering perennials that come back year after year. Best in sun and well-drained soil but not especially fussy.

Geums are good for planting amongst other perennials as they have a small 'footprint' compared with the area the flowers fill above, meaning you can really maximise the space. Snip out old flowers to encourage new ones.

Shrubby wallflower Erysimums are bee- and butterfly-friendly and fragrant to boot. When first blooms finish chop down the entire plant to just a few inches and it will soon regrow and you could have flowers well into autumn time.

Those pictured are in 2 litre pots, priced £5.99 each. We also have Geum Koi (scarlet), Sunrise (yellow), Lady Stratheden (yellow) and Mrs Bradshaw (red) in 1 litre pots for £3.29 each.

Lavenders

8/4/2020

We are getting lots of requests for Lavenders at the moment, and why not when they are so well suited to East Anglian conditions.

It will be a while before the 9cm Lavenders are ready, but we still have a good few in 2 and 3 litre pots, including our most popular varieties: Munstead and Hidcote.

Other English varieties available include Melissa Lilac, Little Lady, Grosso, Platinum Blonde, Folgate and white Edelweiss. Some have not been potted for a huge length of time but are big enough to plant out. If you are after French Lavender, our 'Fathead' plants are coming into flower now.

All 2 and 3 litre Lavenders £5.99 each
