The Woodbridge Beepass connects Rushmere, Kesgrave, Martlesham, Playford, the Bealings, Woodbridge, Melton, Bromswell and Sutton.
If you live in these areas and are interested in applying to have Bee Cafe plants in your garden, please email [email protected] with just your postcode in the subject line. Paul Martin, founder of Bee Cafe CIC has partnered with us to realise his vision of a pollinator corridor between Ipswich- Woodbridge-Sutton, providing regular feeding station for bees in particular. As wildlife studies show that bee communities continue to decline, his goal is to prevent bees becoming isolated and being lost. Bee Cafe CIC have won sponsorship from Woodbridge Town and East Suffolk Councils to encourage residents to take part. Council-subsidised 'plant packs' of 12 bee-friendly Katie's Garden perennials are available to purchase at a subsidised rate to those living within a defined 'Bee corridor' area. The first packs of bee-friendly plants were collected on World Bee Day with an event at the nursery in Newbourne. Customers, including local residents and councillors also put a bee 'pin' in the map to track progress in building the pollinator pathway. To check the progress of this project, or to apply to take part visit the Bee Cafe CIC website: https://www.beecafecic.org/
